CSC Steel Holdings Berhad (640357-X),(formerly known as Ornasteel Holdings Bhd) was incorporated in Malaysia as a public company limited by shares under the Company Act, 1965 on 20 January 2004 . CSC Steel Holdings Berhad is principally involved in investment holding and provision of management services. CSC Steel Holdings Berhad was successfully listed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad on 30 December 2004.

With the 100 % acquisition of CSC STEEL SDN BHD and Group Steel Corporation (M) Sdn Bhd on 5 October 2004, the core business under the CSC Steel Holdings Berhad Group is the manufacturing and marketing of steel products, namely Cold Rolled Steel Coils, Galvanized Steel Coils and Pre-painted Galvanized Steel Coils.

The CSC Steel Holdings Berhad Group's business is steely supported by its major ultimate shareholder, China Steel Corporation ("CSC") of Taiwan (through its wholly-owned subsidiary, China Steel Asia Pacific Pte Ltd) which has more than 30 years experience in steel industry.


 

 
 
CSC STEEL SDN BHD (228899-P), (formerly known as Ornasteel Ent. Corp. (M) Sdn Bhd) was incorporated on 14 November 1991 to undertake the manufacturing and marketing of steel pipes and cold rolled steel coil ("CRC"). In July 1993, the company started producing steel pipes followed by CRC in August 1994.The total capacity of Ornasteel Enterprise for producing steel pipes was approximately 72,000 Mt per annum and for CRC was approximately 350,000 Mt per annum at that point in time.

On 14 December 2000 , CSC STEEL SDN BHD was acquired by the CSC Group. In 2001, CSC STEEL SDN BHD discontinued the production of pipe products and commenced to restructure and align its resources to strengthen its core business, which is the manufacturing and marketing of CRC. To date, the production capacity of CRC is 624,000 Mt per annum.
 

 

 
 


Group Steel Corporation (M) Sdn. Bhd. (“Group Steel) was incorporated on 19 December 1994 to undertake the manufacturing and marketing of galvanized steel ("GI") and pre-painted galvanized steel ("PPGI"). The galvanizing with a production capacity of approximately 240,000 Mt per annum was commissioned in August 1998 and went into commercial production in October 1998. The pre-painted galvanizing line was commissioned in November 1998 and went into commercial production in January 1999. It has a production capacity of approximately 120,000 Mt per annum. On 14 December 2000, Group Steel was also acquired by the CSC Group.
